Hive 16-05 resulted from a swarm clinging to life on a pine tree during a wet spring blizzard in Salt Creek. (Technically this wasn't a swarm but an absconded colony from a nearby fallen tree)
2017- Spring inspections showed that this hive was the strongest of all the overwintered colonies. Hive had early spring buildup, and solid brood patterns throughout both deep boxes.
May 6, 2017- Moved to Pueblo County (off 29th lane) for Host-A-Hive. Moved frame of brood from 17-04 to this hive for queen production.
